Science Week 2023
This year, the theme of the Week is ‘connections’.
Our communication classes had an exciting opportunity during Science Week 2023. They were able to step into the Space photo booth and experience what it feels like to be astronauts!

In addition, our students had the pleasure of welcoming a scientist into their classroom. They were able to witness some fascinating experiments, such as blowing up a balloon using a mixture of baking soda and vinegar, and discovering that oil does not mix with water.

However, the highlight of the visit was meeting Mr High Five, an experiment they created themselves.
Primary Science Week HAND Spring 2023
Meanwhile, the primary main body classes were deeply engaged in Forensic Science. They were given the task of investigating a break-in at our school that took place during the night. The suspects had left behind fingerprints, blood samples, shoe prints, and even a t-shirt! This proved to be quite challenging for the children, as they had to observe, collect data, compare evidence, and bravely share their own fingerprints to ensure they were not implicated.
Their hard work and dedication paid off when they successfully cracked the code and identified the culprits as Mrs Millard and Mrs Needham! The children were exceptional detectives and received well-deserved medals for their outstanding efforts. Congratulations to everyone involved!
Science Week Crime Scene Primary Spring 2023
On the secondary level, our students took part in enthralling crime scene investigations. They were engrossed in puzzles and mysteries that tested their wits and deduction skills. It was a thrilling experience that allowed them to apply their scientific knowledge in real-world scenarios. The students thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to become amateur detectives, unraveling clues and piecing together the puzzle to solve the crimes.

Science Week 2023 was a resounding success, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and teamwork among our students. It was an engaging and stimulating experience that showcased the importance of science in our everyday lives. We are immensely proud of the accomplishments and enthusiasm demonstrated by all our students during this eventful week.
