HWA Blog - 19.7.24

What a year! There have been many lovely learning experiences and memories shared on my weekly blog over the academic year and I wanted to finish my last blog with highlights of the year from our classes and forms, starting with our fabulous reception class…

Mrs Lerigo’s class…

We have had the most amazing year in Reception Class. I say it every year, but the children have just been the best and grown and developed more than I could ever have imagined. We have had so much fun and to think about the best parts is almost impossible to identify. So, I think I’ll just say that the highlights for me have been the smiles, the laughs, the moments when the learning is realised, and the students show us how to apply their new knowledge. It’s the times when they start to self-regulate, to manage their own behaviour, make good choices and when they come to lessons ready and eager to learn.

Reception class you are just fabulous, you will be just great in year 1 and I look forward to watching you grow as you move through school and show the world your brilliance.

Miss Emma

Miss Bramley’s class…

We have had a fantastic year in our class, we have made lots of wonderful memories that I know me and the team will cherish forever. The friendships the children have made have blossomed throughout the year and it has been a pleasure to watch each and every one of them grow and become more confident and resilient as the year has gone on. I wish them every bit of luck for next year although they won’t need it, if they continue to shine like the stars I know they are! Well done Everyone you should be very proud of yourselves as we are extremely proud of you!!

And of course, the best of Luck from all of us in Miss Bramley's class to the year 6 and Year 11 children in their new classes and adventures!

Miss Oakley’s class…

Another year has passed, more memories created and the progress you have made has been outstanding. We have loved watching your creativity and independence flourish in our new multi-sensory curriculum and you should all be so proud of yourselves. From Myself, Miss Emily and Miss Libby we hope you have a wonderful summer and we are so proud of you!

Mrs Bailey’s class…

What a wonderful year we have had in RBA! We are all so proud of the progress the children have made this year and can’t wait to see how they continue to flourish and develop over the next academic year. Have a wonderful summer, from Miss Bec, Miss Amy and Miss Ellie!

Mr Corrigan’s class…

Our highlight of the year was the farm trip. The fantastic experience felt like a culmination of everything we have learned and achieved this year.

Miss Boothroyd and Miss McDonald’s class…

In KS2CML/VBD we have had a year full of fun, laughter, teaching, and learning. The children have expressed that their favourite parts of this academic year have been History, Maths, the fun Talk 4 Writing lessons, and of course soft play. We have had a wonderful year. As for Miss McDonald, Miss Boothroyd, Miss Akhtar and Miss Fletcher, we have thoroughly enjoyed this year and hope all the children have a well-rested, fun filled Summer break.

Miss Hulme’s class…

Well, what an amazing year we have had filled with lots of fun, laughter and achievements! I would like to thank the children for being fantastic and for being such a lovely class. I hope you all have a fabulous summer break!

Mrs Davies’ class…

What a year we've had, we've had lots of laughter, some tears and everything in between. I'm so proud of the progress you have all made. I hope you all have a wonderful summer.

Miss Gittins’ class…

Really difficult to just pick one memory from this academic year to talk about when we have made so many. These Y6 children have been in a class together for the past 2 years and have made some bonds that will last a lifetime. I am so proud of their progress and achievements – they are truly wonderful and I hope to hear great things as they start a new chapter in their life!

We do however have our current Year 5 children who will be coming back to class RGS for their final year! I’m very excited to start a new School year together and create some lifelong memories, too. Have a wonderful summer ready to come back refreshed in September!

Miss Tootill’s class…

Class KS2LTO have concluded our academic year full of memories, laughter, and growing friendships. We have welcomed new students into our class and our children have all developed into young teens, who eagerly await their journey in secondary school. It is impossible to choose one best bit, when this year has provided us with numerous – from the farm, to Gulliver’s, to Children in Need and Crucial Crew, they’ve all been amazing. On behalf of Miss Sutcliffe and I we wish you all the very best and thank you for being OUTSTANDING this year! Class KS2LTO over and out!

Mrs Whalley’s form…

It has been a fantastic year with lots to celebrate. The class team are very proud of our students and the progress they have made. We are so proud in fact that one week we just could not pinpoint one Star of the Week as all students had all been truly remarkable. Here are our students ALL receiving Star of the Week certificates. Have a lovely summer 7DWY and we look forward to greeting you back in September as 8DWY. Your Class Team

Mrs Mayer’s form…

My favourite thing from our form is how we have taken things from the happy hut and talked about our health and hygiene. Our young people have also done several interventions over the course of the year with Miss K and Miss Sharples where they have had really mature conversations.

Mr Atta’s form…

The form enjoyed Outdoor Education this year, especially visiting cafes as they got to sit and chat together, eat toast and drink hot chocolate.

Miss Rashid’s form…

What an amazing year for our Inspiration hub students! Proud of the progression that has been made. Enjoy the summer! - Miss Rashid

The Specialist Support Team have loved having our students in their interventions and are so proud of their progression. On reflection, there have been so many proud moments this year, from the successes in Friendship Group, Social Clubs, the Summit Up rock climbing trip with the Team Building group, supporting our Year 11's in their GCSE's and then seeing them on their prom night, as well as getting the amazing opportunity to assist on the Disneyland trip and seeing our students outside the school environment. We were able to watch our students use all their strategies, to overcome and push themselves in unfamiliar situations, as well as create greater bonds with the students. We've had a fabulous year and can't wait to see what next year brings.

Today, Mrs Needham had the pleasure of handing out my Headteacher’s awards for a lot of lovely reasons and we are so proud of you all.

Keep up the hard work when you return in September.

It has been lovely to read so many positive comments from cards and well wishes that you, our families, have sent into school this week. I have the pleasure of working alongside the most amazing staff team that go above and beyond to support our wonderful children, young people and families and for this I am extremely grateful, proud and honoured. Thank you to our whole school community.

I hope you all have a fabulous summer break and we are looking forward to welcoming our children, young people, families and staff back on Wednesday 4th September 2024.
