Key Stage 5

Hollinwood Academy Key stage 5 (KS5) young people access a satellite provision at the New Bridge College (NBC). NBC is a KS5 provision which is a part of the New Bridge School.

The NBC is an outstanding Ks5 college that caters for young people with SEND.

The focus of the KS5 curriculum is on destinations for young people.

The curriculum aims to support young people in achieving various destinations, including:

• Being Independent
• Working with support in my Community
• Volunteering in my Community

The NBC curriculum is designed to give young people access to pathways that they find interesting, thereby opening routes to as wide a variety of careers as possible and providing a firm foundation for their future.

Over a five day per week offer (30 blocks), NBC offer three subject themed pathways:

• Activ8 – sport studies,
• Lumenus – performing arts
• Digi4ll – digital and enterprise
• Health and social care

NBC offer two employment themed pathways:

• Pre-Internship
• Bridging the Gap (BTG)
