Head of School's Welcome
I am proud to introduce myself as Head of School and welcome you to Hollinwood Academy, where everyone is unique.
I have worked at Hollinwood Academy as Deputy Headteacher for Safeguarding and Behaviour for nearly nine years.
It is now my privilege to be serving as Head of School, working alongside an exceptional staffing team to ensure all children and young people receive the best possible opportunities that enable them to flourish, achieve their full potential, and reach their desired destination.
Working with the children, young people, staff and families at Hollinwood Academy has instilled a sense of pride and strengthened my commitment to creating meaningful futures for all children and young people with special needs.
To ensure we continue to achieve successful outcomes, I will continue to, reflect, review and evaluate our offer to ensure it is fit for purpose and accessible to meet the needs of every individual.
Being part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust enables us to share best practices and knowledge and work together to deliver the best outcomes.
As a parent myself, I understand the importance of selecting the right school for your child. At Hollinwood Academy, we are caring, inspiring, passionate, creative, innovative and we trust each other.
These are fundamental values towards creating a strong safeguarding culture (Ofsted 2024) with high expectations to ensure all children and young people feel safe, valued and able to learn. Teaching and learning across school is excellent, supporting children and young people of all abilities to make excellent academic progress and extensive gains in their social and communication skills (Ofsted 2024).
I, alongside the staff, Governors at Hollinwood Academy and Trustees from the MAT am immensely proud of the progress and development our children and young people past and present have made, and I feel privileged to be part of their learning journey and preparation for adulthood.
