Curriculum Pathways

At Hollinwood Academy, we offer four distinct curriculum pathways designed to cater to the diverse needs of our children and young people: Engage, Explore, Inspire, and Thrive. Each pathway is bespoke, reflecting the individual interests and capabilities of the children and young people within our care.

The primary Engage Pathway is specifically designed for children working within the engagement model, operating below National Curriculum levels. The main emphasis for learners on this pathway is the enhancement of communication and engagement skills.

The primary Explore Pathway caters to children who are progressing below age-related National Curriculum levels. These learners begin to access elements of the National Curriculum, with lessons extensively adapted to ensure that educational experiences are relevant and impactful.

Students within the Inspire Pathway benefit from a broad and balanced curriculum, predominantly working at age-related National Curriculum levels. They typically engage in most learning within a familiar classroom setting, allowing for stability and consistency with dedicated staff.

Lastly, the Thrive Pathway offers an ambitious, broad, and balanced curriculum for children and young people also working at age-related National Curriculum levels. At the secondary stage, learners experience varied classroom environments and engage with a range of staff to enrich their educational experience.
