Progress and Attainment: Hollinwood Academy regular assesses the personalised EHCP step targets on Evidence for Learning (EFL) on a regular basis, this progress is tracked termly for all learners across the school. Children and young people make excellent progress in their learning, they achieve well in both core subjects and a broad range of foundation subjects. Children and young people are well-prepared for the next stages of their education, training, or employment. This is evidenced on the summative assessments on Arbor, the formative assessments on EFL, and the moving on reports.

Independence and Well-being: Children and young people’s confidence, self-esteem, and independence, equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive in an inclusive society is captured through the AET framework, specialist support team interventions, outdoor education curriculum, the RSE and HRE curriculum, student voice, student council, anti-bullying ambassadors and the EHCP step targets.

Engagement and Enjoyment: At Hollinwood Academy we foster a love of learning by providing stimulating, engaging, and relevant learning experiences that promote active involvement and enjoyment. This is evidenced in learning walks, lesson observations, learning scrutiny, EFL, annual reviews, parent and carer voice, and student voice.

TD Snap Training for Parents and Carers - Spring 2024

Hollinwood Academy welcomed parents and carers to the annual TD Snap training session. The session focused on familarisation with the TD Snap app and how to create bespoke pages for their children at home.

Hollinwood Academy is an advocate for the total communication approach, as part of this we use Sign Along across the school. Signalong is a key word sign-supported communication system based on British sign language and is used in spoken word order. It uses speech, sign, body language, facial expression and voice tone to reference the link between sign and word.
