Anti-Bullying

Hollinwood Academy does not tolerate any form of bullying, it is not acceptable. Any incidents that may relate to bullying will be challenged in line with our behaviour and anti-bullying policy.

We work hard to provide a positive environment where children and young people can flourish and feel safe and happy. We promote inclusivity, diversity and equality across school and we are very proud of our anti-bullying ambassadors who are working alongside the student council to achieve the Diana award and combat any type of bullying that may arise.

Diana Anti-Bullying Award

The Diana Award was founded on the late Diana, Princess of Wales’ belief that young people have the power to change their community, their country and the world. Their mission is to empower young people to lead that change through a range of initiatives which unlock their potential, inspire action and create opportunities, ensuring that no young person is left out or left behind.

NK Theatre

Students have been working with a freelance practitioner from NK Theatre Arts, devising performance pieces around the current 'national' issues with bullying. Students have been involved with the creation for each piece, both as performers and as directors. Students have also used various techniques such as puppetry to show student voice when it comes to these issues. Final results will be filmed and edited to showcase this collaboration to our students, families and wider community.

We are also working towards the Artsmark Award. Our children and young people across school are working towards developing an awareness and improving mental health and wellbeing. The Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings, accredited by Arts Council England. Artsmark’s flexible framework is designed to embed arts, culture and creativity across the whole curriculum, celebrating our commitment to cultural education and capital.

If you are worried or upset about anything, you can speak to any member of staff and they will listen to you. Remember that there is always someone who can help you.
